scope of work
the project involved converting a redundant flat into three additional residential bedrooms, each with accessible en-suite shower rooms.
it also included designing and constructing an extension link corridor to connect with the main home, as well as altering and extending mechanical and electrical services to suit the new layout.
additionally, connections were made to home facilities for nurse call systems and similar amenities.
challenges faced
finding a suitable and competent contractor of appropriate size in the area proved challenging.
working below occupied residential bedrooms and safely navigating around a fully occupied care home with vulnerable residents added further complexity.
our experienced team also knew that obtaining planning approval for the proposed extension would be necessary, so this was advised and addressed in plenty of time.
outcome
the client was overjoyed with the pleasing architectural outcome, enthusing that the extension seamlessly integrates with the existing structure.
the additional three rooms now provide accommodation for residents awaiting space, optimising a previously redundant area of the building.
additionally, the project generated additional income from a modest capital investment to complete.
